Backing up your wallet is crucial for securing your Bitcoin. Having a backup allows you to regain access to your funds on another device in the case of events like device failure, theft, or loss.

You'll only need to backup your wallet once but doing so will ensure that you can regain access to your Bitcoin at any time. There are a number of digital wallets to choose from, we'll be using for this walkthrough. Check out the video below to get started:

Locate the Security Section of the Exodus App

Once you've launched the Exodus Wallet App, navigate to your profile and select "Security". From there, tap "Backup"

Save your 12-Word Backup Phrase

When you're sure that you're not being watched, tap "View Secret Phase".

On the next screen, place your finger where it says "Press and Hold to Reveal". This will display your auto-generated backup phrase, be sure to store this phrase somewhere safe. This phrase functions as the master password for your wallet, never share this with anyone. 

Create a Password

Now that you've stored your backup phrase, you should create a password lock for your wallet.

You'll receive a confirmation after creating and verifying your wallet password. You'll be asked to enter this password each time you launch the app.

That's it! You've successfully backed up your digital wallet
